This Beautiful Life

I have had a fairly stressful day at work, we are being Ofsteded (okay I know, not good English for an English teacher!).  So far it is going well, but the proof will be in the feedback session tomorrow.  I was on my way home, crossing the reservoir when I had to stop the car and take this photo.  The sunset was so beautiful that it literally took my breath away.  It struck me how beautiful the world is around us and how we take it so much for granted.  Sometimes we need to just stop and look.

  1. Good luck with your feedback session tomorrow. I hope you do really well.

Love the photo of the sunset...

  2. I haven't the slightest idea what Ofsteded means, Fran, but I hope the feedback session isn't as stressful.
Your photo was certainly worth stopping for. We saw some beautiful scenery yesterday traveling across the prairie, and I had my camera but the road was too narrow to allow my husband to pull over, and the car windows were too dirty for a drive-by shot.
Glad you stopped for this one. It looks beautifully unstressing (I know, not good English for a printer/writer/editor who majored in English).

  3. Judging by what my sister tells me, being Ofsteded is very stressful indeed, so I think it deserves its own verb form, passive voice and all. The photo is stunning, and as another English teacher /writer, I am shamefully at loss for words to describe how it moves me, but be sure it does!

  4. I haven't a clue about Ofsted or even being Ofsteded it sounds a bit foreign to me.

Now beautiful scenes and beauty I do know about and quite often Mrs H has to intervene and drag me off :)

  5. Mel and Kay - Ofsted is the government body responsible for inspecting all education facilities. They are well known for being very tough to please. I am pleased to say that the bit I am in charge of was said to be 'outstanding' the top grade we could get.

Sft and Val - thanks for your good wishes, I came home and slept for 14 hours straight! A reaction to the stress of the last few days x

  6. I am guessing that if you put teacher together with feedback it sounds like what we call a Program Quality Review in California. I used to serve on review teams so I could help our school do better when people were poking around to see if we were doing things according to the standards. Good luck - I know how stressful it can be. - Margy
