Work Resumes....

At last, the snow has all but disappeared, the temperature has risen and the sun is shining. Time to start work again. Here is Dave welding the new hatches on to the fore deck. Pete has used the angle iron from the old wheel house to make two new hatches, lots of money saved!
Billy (our new neighbour) seems to instinctively know when the kettle has been put on! Here he is, sitting in front of the woodburner, studying my plans and giving his, always welcome, opinion and advice. Bonnie certainly is looking a mess at the moment but at least we can see the way forward.

It's Melting!

As pretty as the snow is, I will be so glad when it goes. With the Christmas holiday, New Year and snow bound days off work, I am now bored and ready to go back to work, didn't think I'd ever say that!! In the meantime I thought I would post a couple more pictures of Tollesbury and the snow as we don't see it very often like this.
At least the decks don't look in desperate need of painting when they are snow covered!

Happy New Year! We have got quite a lot done over the holidays. Pete was hoping to weld the new hatches on to the fore deck and to paint the office now that he has cleaned all the old bitumen off, before laying the floor joists which have all been cut to size. However, weather stopped play!

This is going to be the view that we will wake up to once we are on our mooring. Isn't it beautiful? Imagine sat in the wheelhouse, wood burner on, glass of something warming in hand........... Okay so we're a way off yet, but a girl can dream!

Alfie is thoroughly enjoying the snow! He can't quite make out where the snowballs disappear to when they are thrown!
