Our New Home Berth

We finally got the barge moved today on to its mooring.  It was manually pulled round by four big blokes and of course today was the only day for weeks that we have had any wind!  But it all went off without a hitch and we are now sitting nice and flat in the berth.  We are all absolutely exhausted and are looking forward to taking things at a more leisurely pace.  I thought I would leave you with a couple of pictures of our new views........

  3. I'll bet the four big blokes are the most tired of all.
Is this a permanent berth or will you be changing views on a regular basis?

  4. Hi Fran, Your views are wonderful. Now, are you going to have to row out to your barge, or can you get to it from the dock? I hope that you are all able to kick back and have a restful weekend. I'm also very happy that it all went well, and I know it must feel wonderful to have that job done :)
    Have a great weekend,
    Your blogging sister, Connie :)

P.S. You can send that wind our way. We haven't been sailing in two weeks . . . no wind, LOL

  5. Sarah - thank you, it is so quiet it is lovely xxx

Wendy - thank you, we can watch all the activity on our back deck xxx

Kay - this is 'home' until we retire, when we will hopefully go off to Europe, but we will always come back to Tollesbury xxx

Connie - we can walk to the boat except when there is the twice monthly high spring tide, but we ave always had that problem, we just have to be careful of our timings getting on and off the boat. The wind has dropped today so I hope it made its way over to you! Xxx

  6. That certainly is a lovely view. What is the greenery in the water, weeds or native sea plants?

  7. DC - thank you - it is native sea plants. There is a lot of samphire everywhere, you know - the stuff they pay an absolute fortune for at fancy restaurants!! Xxx

  10. Val - you wouldn't think wilderness at the moment - there are kids crabbing, playing around in canoes or just swimming, noisy but lovely to see and hear kids having fun xxx

Karen - we have had a rest, now back to work! Xxx

Ib - thank you, I will post some pictures of what it looks like when the tide goes out xxx
