No Words .....

There are no words that can describe the sadness that I feel about the events in Woolwich this afternoon. My heart goes out to the young soldier who was killed and to his family and friends. I know from personal experience how deeply this will be felt in Woolwich Barracks tonight and my thoughts are with them all.

  1. I agree. It's sickening and I don't think I can watch the news for a few days at least as I find the whole thing very upsetting and distressing. I wish there had been warnings before they showed some of the footage and images tonight. I can't imagine how the family of that poor soul must feel.

  3. Oh, Fran, I know you know more about this than most of us do, and I'm grateful there are people like you, and like the woman who stood up to one of the armed men and spoke to him calmly.
I'm not young any more. It doesn't matter if I wake up every morning thinking I'm 30. As soon as I move an arm or a leg I know I'm 66 and the world is a different place.
My deepest sympathy to the people of Britain.

  5. Very true and we won't yet know whether he was targeted or they were just looking for an armed forces person and he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  7. Craziness is everywhere around the world. We heard the news on the radio and were deeply saddened as well. - Margy

  8. It is too terrible. It also brings home to us that thousands of people in the middle east endure this kind of violence every day. My heart goes out to this soldier's family, but also to all the thousands of families who have lost loved ones to this kind of savage violence. It's happening all the time, but we don't notice because it's so far away.
