Shhhh...don't tell Pete, but there is more to come!
Secondly, an apology. I have been reading your blogs at work and commenting away, until I realised today that my comments weren't showing on your posts. So bear with me while I try to work out what has gone wrong, but I am reading them all and thoroughly enjoying them.
Tanya - Actually it was a Vax with a very long hose and a large water bottle half way along the hose. Amazing to see. I will post a picture soon of the swarm box, it is now sitting on the allotment.
Kay - They made their way in through an open office window at the back of the jewellers. I don't know what attracted them though.
Diane - I amazed myself, but you do feel very protected in those bee suits. I can't wait to get my own honey.
Margy - I have been stung by a wasp before, but never a bee. My beehandler says it is about confidence and being nice to the bees. I am trying to take his word for it!
Kellie - Not really brave, some would say mad!
SFT - Wasps are a whole different ball game, I would definitely stay away from them. I wish more people would grow flowers for the bees, we need to protect them more.
Oh Fran, enough room there surely for some custom made, shaped narrow raised beds. Think what you could do with some of them!
ReplyDeleteLovely, Fran! How come you have such lovely flowers, though? I've heard that it's been raining so much all the plants are turning to mush! That being said, My daughter's house and lovely little MX5 car were flooded last night in a flash storm in Rotterdam, so we can't really talk.
ReplyDeleteYour deck looks glorious Fran! So pretty and I love the veggies.
ReplyDeleteHow is life on board when the weather is wet?
Have a great week.
Sft x
By the way, Fran, my blog address has changed. It's now http://wateryways.blogspot.com. The vereeniging is no more...
ReplyDeleteBlogger has its ways with us at times. The flowers are lovely, and the edibles a great addition. Probably a lot closer for quick picking than your alotment. - Margy
ReplyDeleteHow exciting Fran! I'm so glad you've got your bees at the allotment already :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great open area to garden.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Diane
Looking good. Just keep growing things Pete can eat and you should be OK. - Margy
