Thank you everyone for your words of support and good wishes for my Dad. I am very pleased that he has amazed all the doctors and pulled himself back up. He had a pacemaker fitted yesterday and, all being well, should be out of hospital in a couple of days. It has been a tough couple of weeks, he had us all worried and I think my Mother will give him some stick when he gets home! The care and treatment that he has had at Broomfield Hospital and Basildon Cardiac Unit has been absolutely wonderful and I would love to be able to thank them all personally for looking after my Dad so well and not giving up. THANK YOU.
We have the wedding next week of my son Stuart and his financee Kerry (and yes Dad can come to that) and the Hen Night tonight. I have my dress, hat etc and am all set up and ready, so can't wait. Also more good news, my eldest son proposed to his girlfriend on Wednesday and she said YES. I am so happy, Lucie is a lovely girl and a welcome addition to the family. I am so lucky with all my sons' girlfriends, they are all wonderful, caring girls and have been a great support to Mum and myself recently. Congratulations Philip and Lucie, I am looking forward to the wedding next year.
Don't know what your OH looks like but can certainly see you in your son! Good news about your dad and very welcome news about the engagement and forthcoming wedding. Just the pick you up you all need.
ReplyDeleteSuch good news about your dad and your sons as well. It will be such a relief that your dad is on the mend and will be able to go to the wedding,

So glad your dad is getting better. My dad will be having surgery on Monday so I know where you are coming from. Your son and soon to be wife make a very handsome couple. What is a Hen Night? Never heard of that before.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Diane
Datacreata - thanks for the good wishes, Philip is actually the dead spit of his Dad as are the other two boys. I'm glad you can see something of me in him, not many people say that :) xxx
ReplyDeleteGill - thank you, it certainly is a relief and great news that he can come to the wedding xxx
Diane - I hope your Dad is okay, you just start to get rid of your kids and then your parents start! A Hen Night is when all the bride-to-be's friends take her out and treat her to a last night of 'freedom', pretty much like a stag night for the guys xxx
Fran, that's fantastic news all round, but especially that your dad is on the mend. Your son is a very handsome young man and his girlfriend looks lovely too. If he's the spit of his dad, then I don't wonder you fell for your Pete! That said, I also see you in him!
ReplyDeleteGreat news to hear that Dad, the hero, is coming out of hospital soon.
ReplyDeleteSuch happy news for you all, and your son will be even happier that his grand dad can make his big day.
I am so glad you get on with all your DILs (future and present). They sound lovely but Fran it also says alot about you as a person.. I could say more.
WHY HAS NO ONE PICKED UP ON THE FACT THAT YOUR SON IS OUTSIDE NO.10? IS HE THE NEW PM?
Sft x
Fran, just a quick question. Do you still see my blog now I've changed its name? I'm curious because I notice on other people's blogs, it's still listed as Vereeniging and still shows my last post as being the latest. Very odd. In case you can't find it, it's now at http://wateryways.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks Val for the good wishes. I can see your blog and get the latest updates using waterways. Will catch up my reading later and leave a comment just to make sure it is all okay. Pete is actually the boys' stepdad. Unfortunately their dad died eight years ago, which always cast a shadow over occasions like weddings, but I am sure he will be there watching and is very proud of his sons xxx.
ReplyDeleteThank you SFT for your lovely compliment. Hee, Hee about Philip! No, he is not a politician or civil servant but he does have some connection with 10 Downing St xxx
Dearest Fran, I am so very happy for you. The good news about our dad is awesome. Congratulations on your new daughters-to-be and best wishes to both happy couples. Have fun on your Hen's night out! You deserve a relaxing evening after all the worry and pain of having your dad so ill. Wishing you the very, very best, Connie :)
ReplyDeleteSo happy for You Fran !
ReplyDeleteWonderful news Fran! And with two marriages coming up I don't doubt that you'll have a grandbaby before long :)
ReplyDeleteHi Fran, I am reading and trying to catch up. I was so pleased to see that your dad is doing well. And, you have some joyful occasions upcoming. How fun! I am really happy for you that you are going to have daughters in law whom you really like and love.
ReplyDeleteSince the shootings in Colorado, USA, I have felt it important to tell people how much they mean to me, and how much I appreciate them -- including blogger buddies, like you.
Richest blessings!
Sue
