Alfie
I have had to take Alfie to the vets. His little toenail had grown to such an extent that it had curled back into his paw pad. I feel so guilty for not noticing earlier, he must have been in such pain and didn't utter a word of complaint. The vet gave him a painkiller jab and some anti-biotics just to make sure it didn't get infected. Once the jab kicked in Alfie went mad, like he had been given a whole new lease of life. It is just as bad having dogs as it is kids, along with the love and fun, they also cause you worry, guilt and money!

And they don't stay out all night and then lay in bed all day!!!!! x
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a very sweet canine. Hope Alfie's back to normal now. I had a big Bouvier des Flandres dog in Canada with black nails, and I was terrified about cutting them. I learned to do a little bit at a time and to do it often, so I wouldn't cut into the quick. He put up with it, in spite of my ineptitude, like a real gentleman.
ReplyDeleteMy cat Tobi is totally accident prone and I am constantly checking him for wounds that may get infected or abscessed. (happened twice costing $600 a pop). Still they are great company and worth it. I am OK thanks for visiting Fran!
ReplyDeleteOh my, how I know what you mean here. My Sindi costs me a fortune in stress, anxiety and concern, not to mention money...lol. I do hope Alfie's toenail has now recovered, although it is amazing what painkillers can do!
ReplyDeleteHe's absolutely fine now thanks. Certainly hasn't stopped him chasing a ball!
