Veg Boat

Our friend and neighbour Billy, who I have introduced before, has been sailing around the top of Britain and is now on his way back.  He has just sent this picture of this wonderful boat with a message saying 'thinking of you'.  I have the mickey taken out of me as I already have pots on the fore deck of the barge and plans for window boxes full of lettuce, tomatoes and herbs!  If you click on the picture and enlarge it, you will see the bags with potatoes growing and other veg in various pots etc.  Just one thought though, I wonder if they are fixed to the deck or they just slide around when the owner goes sailing!!!

  1. Maybe the owner doesn't go sailing, maybe he or she just zips about in that inflatable, but lives aboard the sailboat. Doesn't like it's been out of the water to have its bottom cleaned in a long time.
But it sure is a fun photo to look at, isn't it?

  2. It is in a fresh water loch too so there is no hassle about watering and he was a dab hand dipping the bucket and then transferring it into a watering can. She was onboard too watering at the aft end.

Just in the Tyne now and off up to Newcastle tomorrow, by boat of course.

  3. I've seen manya boat garnished with flower pots and containers, but not vegetables. This is wonderful. And colourful! Would bring a smile to those who pass by it.
