Friends in High Places!!

I told them at work that I intended to take my grievances higher, bet they didn't think I would take it this far!!!

We actually had a fab day out in London. We had tickets for the Major General's Review, which is basically the dress rehearsal for the Trooping of the Colour and then on to Downing Street to have our photos taken.  No matter what I think of the military at this moment in time, no one can quite do pomp and circumstance like the British!

  2. One of the things I certainly have never missed since leaving England is the ceremonial parades or 'pomp' as you call it.
Perhaps that is because they all started for me at a young age as Wolf Cub and continued until I became an Assistant Sea Scout Master - that I became sickened with them.

  4. Haha, Fran. It looks very impressive to see you standing in the doorway of number 10. I'm surprised you were allowed so close! Yes, the pomp is something to see although I'd hate to be part of all that drilling myself.

  6. Mel - I can understand that having been dragged around as a Brownie and then a Girl Guide x

    Sarah - No they weren't amused, but hey I don't care! x

Val - I do have some connection to Downing St that enabled us to get in - however, we didn't actually do in - not important enough for that! Mind you, the Japanese tourists outside the gates where taking photos just in case we were someone important! No special occasion - just your everyday trip to London x
